Fundys Athletics

((501(c)(3)) Fundys Athletics is a youth baseball development organization based in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia. Our mission is to expand access to quality baseball training and competition for players ages 5–17, with a focus on minority athletes and youth from single-parent and underprivileged households.

Through affordable training, competitive travel teams, skill-building camps, mentorship programs, and grant-supported opportunities, Fundys Athletics is committed to increasing minority participation and closing the opportunity gap in youth baseball across Hampton Roads over the next 3–5 years.

Problem's to address:

High costs of travel baseball (fees, equipment, travel, individualized training)
Limited access to elite coaching in underserved communities
Lack of mentorship and academic support
Disparity in exposure and recruiting opportunities

Age divisions: 7U–17U
League and tournament participation
Seasonal tryouts

Summer, winter, and holiday camps
Skill-specific clinics
Community outreach camps

4. Grants & Scholarships

Our founder Perry Hunt was born and raised in Hampton Roads Virginia. He attended North Carolina A&T State University where he played baseball and helped lead his team to a MEAC Championship, breaking the school record for wins in 2018.

Currently Coach Hunt is an assistant with the Princess Anne Varsity Baseball Team, Tidewater Phillies Scout Team, and instructs private baseball and softball lessons in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake, Virginia.
